There is nothing like a Parisian theatre for a decor heart-flip.I love the textures at the Théâtre du Palais-Royal that backs onto the garden of the same name. Sublime....

  1. Always found old theatres inspiring and magical. Our local one growing up was one of my favourite places to be. I managed to go backstage one year after the Christmas show and it was like a dream at the time - I was so excited! How funny! x

  3. I always, always get theatre tickets when I visit Paris because I know "le spectacle" will be around me in the room as much as it will be on stage. Another favorite theatre of mine is le Théâtre Edouard VII near the Opera. Do you know it Carla? It sits hidden in a courtyard, tucked away from the street. I bet you and your camera could wonders there ;-) Veronique

  4. Carla, your generosity in sharing photography tips is just beautiful. I have learned something today about shooting into sunlight and the aperture determining the flare shape. Thank you. It is something I have tried to incorporate more into my photography but I have a fine line before it starts to hurt my eyes too much so I enjoy it in little special doses. Your story with your best friend is so lovely. Friendships that last so long are precious. And I wish we had your coffee list before we went to Paris last June! Next time!

  5. How magnificent, Carla! Gorgeous images!

I wish I'd gone inside but I did enjoy a blissfully peaceful afternoon in the gardens there when the roses were in full bloom in August. I was amazed how serene and calming the environment was even though in the middle of the city.

  8. Beautiful photos, both! I love the second one with its hint of a staircase and deep romance. I don't think I've been inside this one but will have to make it a destination.
