Lucidity is a form of Resistance

copyright Carla Coulson

When I first arrived in Paris I adored photographing protests. At protests the French are at their passionate best fighting for what they believe in. About 5 years ago the French government threatened to bring in a new law giving people in their first job few rights, the French hit the street.

I found this beautifully dressed man near Place de Italie and loved his signs. They translate as "I am not proud of this shitty European enonomy that I am leaving my children" and the second one "Lucidity is a form of Resistance". If only we all cared as much about ours and others rights as the French!! Vive La France!! Carla x ps taken on my leica m7 using Tri-x film..

  1. I love it.
I love that he is concerned about the children and the future.
From a standpoint of being out of the country of my birth and watching events of late, I see a selfishness that is very disheartening.
